As the Accountant for the ILAACP Ruth oversees the organizations daily accounting needs, i.e. ledgers and reporting systems. She is also responsible for assisting in planning and maintaining the annual budget and will oversee all ILAACP financial, project/programs and grant accounting as well as providing financial reporting materials for grants.

Before joining the ILAACP Ruth has worked as an accountant for manufactures, municipal entities, restaurants, advertisers, and various services industries for over 20 years. She holds a degree in Business Administration in accounting and received her MA in Economics and a MATD in Training & Development from Roosevelt University.

Where is your favorite destination in the world?
My favorite destination in the world would be any one of the USA’s National Parks; I’ve been to Yosemite and my bucket list is to visit all of them.

What is your favorite quote?
“People are different”

What three things are on your bucket list?

Visit all of the National Parks in the USA, but specifically, the Grand Canyon. Also, to research and document my families ancestry all the way back to Africa and to write a bestselling fiction novel.

If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional, with whom would it be?
