Be Strong Families

The Community Violence Prevention Program (CVPP) Parent Program

Be Strong Families was born out of Strengthening Families Illinois, part of the national Strengthening Families ™ effort. Their mission is to strengthen families from the inside out to achieve positive outcomes for children, families, and society. Be Strong Families assist parents with building research-based protective factors that keep families strong and children safe and assist social service providers in effectively engaging and serving parents.

The Community Violence Prevention Program (CVPP) Parent Program will employ and empower 1,010 parent leaders within 22 CVPP communities to reduce the risk factors that contribute to violence and negativity and promote protective factors that contribute to family and community stability, well-being and peace.
