Board MemberJuanita Temple is Assistant Regional Counsel for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Region V where she serves as the coordinating attorney for employment and labor matters. She is also responsible for managing the agency’s Federal Tort Claims litigation and nursing home enforcement.
Prior to joining the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Juanita served as a federal prosecutor in three districts across the country including the Eastern District of Michigan, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and Northern District of Illinois. This included directing and participating in investigations with and litigation on behalf of the F.B.I., A.T.F., I.R.S., D.E.A., and the Inspector General’s Office of U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Department of Transportation, U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, U.S. Customs and U.S. Secret Services.
Juanita holds a Juris Doctor and two Masters degrees from the University of Cincinnati and speaks French and Spanish. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, Black Women Lawyers Association, Links, Inc., and the Chicago Chapter of Girl Friends, Inc. When she isn’t volunteering for the ILAACP, Juanita and her husband, Dr. Ronald Temple, enjoy traveling.
